Salar de Uyuni, Bolivia

It is considered one of the most extreme and remarkable vistas in all of South America, if not Earth. An estimated eleven billion tons of salt is believed to be within this destination. It covers more than 4,050 square miles of the Altiplano (the area where the Andes are the widest). Salar de Uyuni developed due to prehistoric lakes which evaporated 10,000 to 25,000 years ago. Wildlife is rare here but it does have many pink flamingos. Elizabeth Unger for National Geographic states that, "At certain times of the year, nearby lakes overflow and a thick layer of water transforms the flats into a stunning reflection of the sky. Niagara Falls

There are three waterfalls and some of what is known as the Niagara Falls are on the Canadian border. In Niagara Falls State Park from the Observation Tower at Prospect Point, you can see over the Niagara Gorge and see all three waterfalls. On trails you can see other viewpoints of Niagara Falls from the Niagara Gorge Discovery Center. Niagara Falls State Park is America's oldest state park and is known as "a park for all seasons." The State Park contains more than 400 acres of landscape. The three waterfalls are known as Horseshoe Falls which is the largest of the waterfalls and also known as Canadian Falls because of being along the international border. I enjoyed it!    We have landed!    Plitvice Lakes, Croatia, is an UNESCO world heritage site and a National Park. Over thousands of years, these waters deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which in turn have made the beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls here today. These geological processes continue today, and the park is home to bears, wolves and rare bird species. Covering almost 30,000 hectares, the National Park is located in the lower elevations of the Dinarides (the Dinaric Alps) in the central part of the country. The Plitvice Lakes fascinate scientists and visitors and are in a mix of forests and meadows.
